Restoration:

Although there are many considerations when opening up a 30+ year old piece of electronic equipment with restoration in mind, there is only so much room in my site to just get you started. The following procedures and information are just the beginning of the process of full restoration of a Marantz receiver. We will start with cleaning and changing out of the larger electrolytic capacitors as these steps can usually be handled by the novice electronics enthusiast and tend to offer the best results and add the easiest extention to the device's longevity. You should consider having a professional assess any additional restoration steps. If your tech ever says it's not worth it, doesn't think 30 year old electrolytic caps are bad, or says extensive soldering is a waste of time and money, please send me an email, would ya?
